Dan Persing has been a trusted attorney in the Capital Region for over 30 years, having worked as a solo practitioner and a named partner at several Albany law firms. Dan concentrates his practice in the areas of Litigation, Family & Matrimonial Law, Business Law, Non-Profit Counsel, Medical Malpractice, and Personal Injury. He has also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Albany Law School of Union University.
As an experienced litigator, Dan is well versed in court and trial matters such as family and matrimonial law, business litigation, civil litigation, personal injury claims and medical malpractice for those who have been injured by a doctor or hospital. Jane-Marie Schaeffer, Esq.
Jane-Marie Schaeffer has a rich background in estate and tax law from over 20 years working in both law firms and CPA firms. She works with clients to meet their needs – from simple Wills and Advance Directives to complex Trusts and Asset Protection strategies. Jane-Marie’s legal practice includes Estate & Tax Planning, Charitable Planning, Domestic & Offshore Trusts, Special Needs Planning, Medicaid, Guardianship, Probate & Estate Administration, and Business Succession Planning.
Early in her legal career, Jane-Marie worked at a New York City tax and estate planning law firm where her work included international tax planning. After relocating to the Berkshires in Massachusetts, she practiced as a tax attorney for two Certified Public Accounting firms and a Partner at a prominent Capital Region and NYC Estate Planning law firm before joining the Herzog Law Firm.
Jane-Marie is Treasurer of and serves on the Board of Directors of Consumer Directed Choices, a non-profit that promotes independence for individuals with disabilities. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Elder Law Section and Trusts and Estate Section, and the Massachusetts Bar Association. She frequently lectures to community groups and continuing education seminars on topics such as estate planning and long-term care planning. Jane-Marie received her J.D. from St. John’s University, and received her B.A. from New York University (NYU). She is admitted to practice in both New York and Massachusetts.
